Summer Bridal Makeup

Busy brides often worry about a billion different things all at once; from their dream dress fitting on their special day, the invitations announcing the right location, to the cake looking just right under the reception lights. One thing is for certain, that brides know that they do not want their makeup smeared, ruined, or worse looking like a zebra from tear stripes. Summertime brides have other things to consider; sweat and humidity. One way most summertime brides cheat Mother Nature from ruining their special day and their bridal makeup is airbrush makeup.

First off, what is airbrushing? What makes it different from traditional make up? Airbrushing is makeup that your MUA, Makeup Artist, has measured, finely tuned to match your skin tone, and mixed it with either just plain water, Polymer-water mix, alcohol based mix (Which is mostly used for fake tattoos), or silicon based mix. The makeup is then applied by using a spray gun like tool. In which the makeup is applied in an even layer to the face leaving its mooth and almost Photoshoped looking.

With airbrushed makeup, it actually shows some of your skin which makes it more natural, giving the bride that perfect bridal makeup look that she sees in the magazines and in all the movies. Then the bride will look impeccable on the day of the wedding and long after the reception ends. It will not rub off on your clothing, and it is water proof. Bring on the tears, sweat, and Uncle Joe’s bear hugs at the reception!

Airbrush makeup is ideal for bridal makeup for the sheer coverage it provides. Giving the skin a natural glow and full coverage without it looking like it’s caked on to the brides face. Airbrush also does not leave trace lines, like sponges and brushes can leave behind.

Though invisible to the naked eye, at first glance, getting a close up while wearing traditional makeup, brush and sponge marks are very clear in pictures.  Airbrushing will provide durability, longevity, and applying airbrushed makeup takes half the time it does when applying traditional makeup.

Now if you aren’t sure how you want to do your makeup on your wedding day, go to your MUA and have a trial run done. Double check that your MUA is an airbrush makeup artist, because some do not specialize in airbrush makeup so be sure to double check beforehand!

During your trial run your MUA will do half of your face with traditional make up and the other half with airbrush. This way you can look at yourself and find which of the two you like better. If you have sensitive skin, make sure to let your MUA know beforehand so that he/she will only use mineral makeup, or suggest that you just go traditional to ensure that you don’t break out before your honeymoon!

With the heat alone it’s enough to smudge your traditional makeup, and get it all over your new husband’s tux during your first dance; leaving your make up on his shoulder instead of on your face. Though traditional makeup is cheaper then airbrushing due to the fact you can do it yourself, it will cost more to get your dress dry cleaned when your makeup runs and ends up on your dress. Airbrushed brides avoid clumping of foundation, tears leaving stripes on their face, and avoid having to do touch ups between the wedding ceremony and the reception, making your wedding day as perfect as it should be.

Finding the right bridal makeup artist in Melbourne can be tricky.

Hair and Makeup Artist Melbourne
Makeup is such an important thing to women all over the world. Whether they be young or old, women want to know that they look good especially on important days, for instants for special occasions such as their wedding day. This makeup mania has increased the demand for a great makeup artist. In Melbourne there has been such a demand that more and more women are choosing to train in Makeup so as they can get in on the action. They assume it is easy work and therefore easy money. Let me tell you, this is not the case at all.

Just to get through a high level course takes a lot of dedication, and as there are so many courses out there, it is hard to know if the makeup artist you chose has been through a good course. Being a makeup artist in Melbourne is not just about the way they apply makeup, but also about how you interact with your clients and also whether they choose the right makeup for the client. It’s all well and good to say you are a great makeup artist, but if you don’t make the client feel good about them selves then there is no point.

Some makeup artists in Melbourne are famous for their makeup skills. The unique selling point of their talent lays in their use of waterproof foundation, and this is sprayed through an airbrush machine, it demands different skills and ideas as compared to conventional makeup. Waterproof makeup is always a great option as it workswell for any occasion.

If you come across a makeup artist who tells you airbrush makeup is not good, or she try’s to tell you to use mineral makeup, then you need to run a mile. Mineral makeup is NOT long lasting, and doesn’t last through the tears and long day.  Even if you never wear makeup normally, it is a great idea to wear makeup on your wedding day as this way you will look flawless in your photos.
Airbrush makeup comes out in a fine mist and goes on very thinly, while giving amazing coverage, so your skin will look like it is glowing without the cakey makeup look that some brides get when they wear too much makeup.

Your makeup on your wedding day or any other celebration show look elegant and natural whole makes your eyes pop and your skin look dewy. But not too dewy, as otherwise you will look shinny in photos.

I highly recommend using airbrush makeup and having a trial with your bridal makeup artist. In Melbourne we offer trials up to 1 year before the wedding. Don’t leave it too late, or else you wont be able to find a replacement if you need.

If you would like more information about special occasion or bridal makeup, please contact us for more information. You should always be happy with how you look at your trial and know that on the big day your makeup should be even better. Makeup can make or break a wedding day. Your wedding day should be happy and easy to get through. Do your research and do a trial!
